What are exterior types?

Exterior types are visible wear categories used to describe the condition of Counter-Strike skins. They are based on the skin's float value.

Float ranges

Compare every exterior category at a glance. While exterior names are useful, the actual appearance depends on the exact float value and the individual skin.

Exterior
Float Range
Typical Wear
Factory New 0.00 – 0.07 ★★★★★
Minimal Wear 0.07 – 0.15 ★★★★☆
Field-Tested 0.15 – 0.38 ★★★☆☆
Well-Worn 0.38 – 0.45 ★★☆☆☆
Battle-Scarred 0.45 – 1.00 ★☆☆☆☆

Visual comparison

Although these categories have fixed float ranges, the visual difference varies significantly between skins. Some skins show almost no wear until higher float values, while others become scratched much earlier.

🧪 CSLab Insight

Exterior names are only categories. The actual float value determines how much wear a skin really has.

The same exterior does not always mean the same appearance. Two Field-Tested skins can look very different if one is close to 0.15 and the other is close to 0.38.

CSLab Tip

Always check the exact float value before buying. Exterior name alone is not enough for serious comparison.
